Midwest Transplant...

Postby ddukart on Sun Feb 15, 2009

Hey everyone! My name is Darren and I moved here 3 years ago from Minnesota (via St. Louis for 7 years). I used to play ALL the time in Minnesota, some in the St. Louis area, but havent gotten out yet here in Colorado. My parents actually bought me a catcher for christmas, and I finally put it together, so now I have the fever again!

I live in the Springs and can easily get to either Cottonwood Creek or Widefield. I would LOVE to find some people to get out on the course with, especially if you dont mind my wife coming along to learn how to play!

Let me know! I am a teacher, so in the summer, I will have TONS of time...but still want to get out BEFORE May!

Hey Darren,

I am also from MN although 25 years ago. I am also a teacher and my wife plays. We live very close to Cottonwood and I think I left you a message on the Mile High web site. I have had pneumonia for 3 weeks so haven't been out at all, hope to get out today. You got my number on the other site, give me a call. We would be happy to help teach your wife, my wife has taught many women to play.

Thanks Steve, I will call you sometime! I did play Cottonwood today, all by myself so I didn't embarrass myself with any new friends! I did ok for not playing for about 3 years!

Where do you teach? What grades/subject?

I am a Band Director up at Woodland Park High School, my wife teaches Special Ed in D-11 at McAuliffe (sp?) Elementary!

Hey Darrin,

I teach math at Cheyenne Mt Jr High. This is my 27th year, one more to go.

Give us a call if you are still looking for discs, 5997531. We have pretty much anything you need as well as bags and other supplies.
